For those curious to learn more about my research interests and finding more broadly, I was interviewed on the From the Lighthouse Podcast which is run out of the Discipline of Literature in my home Department at Macquarie University. Over 45 short minutes, I discuss my journey to becoming a scholar of Asian queer popular culture and unpack my thoughts on Japanese Boys Love, Thai BL dramas, and K-pop fandom.
I also give a sneak peak into my forthcoming book Regimes of Desire: Young Gay Men, Media, and Masculinity in Tokyo which is forthcoming from University of Michigan Press, as well as some reflections on the importance of ethnographic research into the study of queer media.
You can access the recording on podbean here.
